Sometimes I do a little homework for my family sessions, scout out locations, find shade in the middle of the day, you know, those sorts of things. But this beautiful family was my most fun homework to date. Their older daughter doesn’t love having her photo taken, but she does love Moana. For my portrait preparation, I watched the movie so it would be fresh in my mind. Best homework I’ve ever done. I am a sucker for sweet Disney movies. I’m a sucker for any sweet movie. And add some catchy tunes and dancing tattoos and I’m all in. Much as I’d like to say I learned every lyric to every song in the movie, I didn’t, but I did have a great name for my silly donkey who occasionally accompanies me to my sessions, and I tried to dance, and even sing a little. Of course my task was to make the girls smile, not terrify them, so I kept the off key singing to a minimum!
And now I have the soundtrack on my phone, so I can continue my studying, who knows when knowing the lyrics to Moana songs might come in handy?
