I love the quiet of the winter, when I have time to just be… I so enjoy revisiting summer through portraits, and reliving adventures through photos of my journeys.
Allison was a delight to photograph, and I don’t have to tell you what a beautiful night we had, you can feel the warmth of that summer sun streaming out of the photos…
I’m already taking bookings for the Class of ’23, yikes!!! Cape Cod is the perfect place for senior photos whether you live here or are just visiting…
But don’t worry, we can just enjoy the winter a little while longer, dreaming of summer while we’re all bundled up and looking forward to that nice, hot cuppa that awaits us when we get home…
As for me, I’m going to keep enjoying the quieter days which allow for me to dig deep into images I’ve taken on various journeys. This week, I’ve been so deep into Africa, I have the Jambo Bwana song on repeat in my head, interspersed with the occasional Circle of Life popping in… Especially that beginning part. lol.
It’s been 10 years in March since I was in Kenya, and I still have not edited through those images entirely. It’s partly because of being busy, but it’s partly because I loved it there so much, and almost every single of the 5,000 plus images I took brings me down the lane of memories, or lane of elephants and zebras as it were, and next thing I know, the dang photos still aren’t culled, but another few images have been played with through the magic of Photoshop. Africa was the fricking coolest. I still, all these years later, look at the images and say to myself, (sometimes out loud), can you believe that you were standing there looking at that?
So I can’t tell you what other people do on the Cape in the winter. But here’s how I spend my days. Search for Snowy Owls. Do beach clean-ups. Watch the snow falling. Occasionally do a little clean-up/organization of the studio. Take a few business portraits. Create senior portrait albums. Catch up on my blog posts. Work on the Plastic Debris shows, workshops, presentations I have upcoming. Plan new adventures. Reminisce about old adventures. And dream just a little about summer.
