I wish you all love and happiness as you spend this holiday with your families. I love those days when there is nothing to take you away from just being together, and enjoying each other. Owning my own business means that I work many hours, and long days, and feel guilty if I take time off knowing my to do pile still has things in it. But tomorrow, I am going to leave all the craziness of the past few months behind: days of getting orders ready and shipped, designing and sending Christmas and holiday cards, taking that last minute Christmas portrait & holiday order, meeting late yearbook deadlines, and spend the day loving my family. Being grateful for the fact that we can celebrate with my in-laws who are both in their 90’s along with our uncle who just turned 97. Three generations breaking bread as countless generations before.
I will miss my mum and sister and family in Connecticut, but they will be with me in spirit, when I tell of the things I am grateful for, they, along with my beautiful daughter, will be at the very top of my list.
And then, on Friday, my work begins again, and I am grateful for that too. I love that I am able to use my gift to create a family portrait for a family that will be together on the Cape this week, and create a cherished memory for them. What could be better than to have a family portrait to hang on the wall to celebrate their togetherness?
I am thankful for my wonderful clients who have supported me for all these years, and am truly grateful to each and every one of you, from the children I photographed this morning in my studio to the families I photographed all summer at the beach on our lovely Cape Cod shores, to my very first clients when I graduated from Photo School. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving.
